This one-of-a-kind sterling silver and mixed-media necklace is based off of limited series of 100 brooches created to honor the historic glass prisms in downtown Astoria’s sidewalks. The glass installed in the sidewalks 100 years ago was originally colorless, but after decades of UV exposure it has changed to the amethyst color seen today. The glass used in this necklace was salvaged from a discarded panel of sidewalk vault lights.
