This one-of-a-kind assemblage wall piece features wings from a swallowtail butterfly that I found while in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Each wing fragment is set under a domed watch crystal with a 14k gold-fill bezel. These “gems” have been carefully fitted into the existing holes from a salvaged brass escutcheon plate and mounted on a piece of ebonized rosewood.
